"SORRISI DA CUORE"
MOTTO FOR FIRST TYME SUMMER TYME
"Smile From The Heart" translated into Italian and printed
on the cover of 2009 program book.
Congratulations to HT member Lico "Star the Clown" Reyes (mustachio) for helping to keep Super Bowl 45 safe this year. Lico is like chicken man; he is everywhere always doing something worthwhile. Boy, what energy and talent.
"We were the unit to call for relief and
support as the best organized and trained on Super Bowl Sunday
2011. Our supervisor is the African American with
locks, Martin (over my rights shoulder). He was flown in from another
state. The five others were all flown in from
Houston and are security Guards for a security company there.
We were assigned to secure one of the many
entrances to the "Cowboys' Campus." Behind us can be seen our 2 "Mags" (magnetic
screening machines).
We cleared more fans than any other unit
that Sunday. And were used to get other units up to speed; when they got
behind. An FBI clearance is required. And we had
special training by the CIA for this event. SAFE Management is Florida based;
and has provided and co-coordinated all other security and greeters for the
last 7 Super Bowls.
I was almost assigned to guard the location
where the ice fell off the roof of the stadium. My day shift was changed from
Thursday to Friday. And on Friday I was assigned to guard the
doors where ice was still falling and cleared from the roof by work crews.
PS: I am one of the actors in the
Documentary HISTORY Channel movie "I'm Alive. "The movie was filmed in Colorado,
Argentina, Chile, and in TX Del Rio, Gainesville
and Dallas. I play "Sergio Catalan" (Sheep herder) the
man who saw the 1st 2 survivors of the airplane crash in the Andes mountains in
1972.
The movie is currently on The History
Channel."

A few pics from the Pantego Lion's Club January 2011 pancake breakfast. The ones showing the same guest were taken as Joe, Miss Cookie, Posie and other guests helped her "celebrate" her BDay by singing Happy Birthday as a waltz.

AUGUST , 2011 TCA CONVENTION
THE WESTIN DFW HOTEL, IRVING!
Mid-Cities Alley #85, is hosting TCA 2011...August 9 -14... at the Westin DFW hotel. The newly redecorated four star hotel is on Highway 114 North of DFW Airport and will be the site for TCA conventions through 2013.
TCA's Board of Directors signed contracts for August 2012 and 2013 to make the Westin Hotel home to TCA conventions for three years in a row. The advantage: Guaranteed space, a locked in room rate of $89 and minimum costs that make meeting space free. This gives a sponsoring alley -- even those with smaller memberships -- the huge advantage of eliminating the frustrating, time consuming search for a local, affordable hotel in their city. Classroom floor plans will be immediately available; budgets can be accurately set; dealer room space pre-set and hospitality and ancillary space will be allocated. In other words, the sponsoring alley can concentrate on planning!
Mark your August calendars for all three years !

"Against many hurdles Happi Tymes came in a Champ! I don't have everyone's email, but pass it on. GREAT JOB!!!! I enjoyed the classes I had. I's sure I didn't see the glitches if there were any, so all went well. We hope to look as smooth next year. Thanks a heap for all your work."
Peggy "Minnie Mustardseed" Barton & Mom
"Whew! Can you breath again? What a lot of hard work and time went into the convention. I thought it was one of the best! It was really special having Leon and David there as wellas the other instructors. LOTS of good information and LOTS of good people doing neat things in their own areas of expertise ... and willing to share. Thanks again to Happi Tymes."
Kathy "Picallo" Keaton
"Thank you, hope (everyone) is rested after a BUSY week. Emily and Ellie (junior joeys) had a great time. They have been practicing dress up with their face painting and doing balloons."
Jane Sullivan
"Saying thank you is so mundane! (So) we would like to offer "a chicken" for funding (one of the Happi Tymes' donated grants) our clown convention. We really enjoyed it and wouldn't have gotten to come otherwise. Thanks to you all!!

UPDATE 1-8-09 Happi Tymes/North Texas Clown Caravan
Hitchcock for Hurricane Relief
On November 6th, a Clown Caravan of cars and trucks from Arlington, Grandbury and Bastrop, near Austin, arrived at Stewart Elementary in Hitchcock, TX, South of Houston, with donations of clothes, personal care items and household goods. The relief effort was prompted by a request to Happi Tymes Alley member Martha "Miss Cookie" Warren from the principal of the school via Taryn Brown, Martha's daughter who taught there.
.
Performing at Stewart Elementary: (top) Earl "Billy Whiskers" Warren, Pam "Touche" Blacklock (Bastrop), Debbie "Posie" Davis, (Grand Prairie), Linda "Ms. Poppy" Green (Bastrop), Dale "Lopo" Deprima (Huntsville), (front ) Peggy "Minnie Mustardseed" Barton (Grandbury) and (r) Martha "Miss Cookie" Warren.
Clowns from all over the DFW Metroplex and beyond responded; TCA Area Director, Peggy Barton gathered a truck load of donations in Grandbury and a clown ministry group at the Bastrop, Texas Christian Church, led by Linda "Poppy" Green, delivered a 10-foot U-Haul trailer and pickup with donations.
In response to Miss Cookies' request for aid, Dallas financial advisory and clown, Carl Jones, helped spread the word through his large email file.
Irving Mid-Cities #85, Arlington's Happi Tymes, Cowtown in Fort Worth, other area entertainers, All American Balloons and Costco of Arlington all donated funds, clothing and their time for the caravan.
A huge round of applause is due to U-Haul! They donated a certificate for $300 to help move the donated items to Hitchcock. What a caring company! As a result of their generosity, Happi Tymes Clown Alley rented one of their 26-foot trucks and filled it FULL of donated items.
FINAL NOTE: As a result of donations from Cornerstone Outreach Ministries of Fort Worth and others, another load of stuffed toys and small gifts, candy and Christmas stockings were delivered to Hichcock students by Miss Cookie on December 14, 2008.
Thanks to everyone who took part in this effort! You all have clown hearts!
